COHAB connects you!!!

After months of preparation and excitement, now we are finally sitting here and writing our first blog about our experience at these summer school.

We came from different countries all around the Baltic Sea to find out how to become a internationally educated teacher.
Saturday the 18th of August five students of each country - who want to become teachers - from Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania and Germany arrived at Klaipeda.
At this day we had a meeting dinner at Magnisima, where students will be living for the next twelve days.
This dinner was really good, because we got to know the other students and a little view of their culture.
The German students arrived at 01:00 in the morning, therefore they couldn't join the dinner.

The first day we get to know the campus of the University of Klapeida and the summer school started with an introduction to the project and also to the town we are going to live there for the next two weeks.
It was really interesting to hear about it, but unfortunately the room was not designed for the acoustic and it was quite hot.

Britta and Martin, the German vocational teachers started the first lesson with a funny game:
"I will pack my bag."
So we had the chance to get to know the names of the other students very fast.
It was a funny idea, because we connected funny words with the names. For example, Niklas' the 'little' needle and Alvadorija and her 'two' apples :-)

After that we made a fantasy trip and shared our expressions in groupwork, which was a very new and interesting experience for the most of us.

Margaretha:

"After two days in Klaipeda with several new people to learn to know and English spoken all day - I feel a bit tired!

I do like the exercice "I pack my bag with...", to learn each others name. The fantasy trip was not that exciting - perhaps it was too late in the afternoon. The air in the classroom is not so very good. It might depend on that's a small room and we are 25 persons."

The fact that the nickname 'Niklas the needle' is forever cemented in the cloud is a thing of beauty. :)

I really like your design! And your kind of motto with the colors. Nice job :)

The idea to take all the colours of our flags and create the claim "it connects us" is amazing. Maybe we should take it up as some kind of slogan!

Good slogan (with alliteration, also)
